Movistar
The Movistar network is in the digitalization process. These speeds are offered in Lima; in other departments the speeds may vary.
Due to the ADSL technology limitations, some speeds can't be contracted in some locations, because the customer premises can be too far from the telephone exchange's provider (DSLAM).
The services from 15 Mbit/s and down can include cable TV at customer request; speeds from 20 Mbit/s can be contracted only with cable TV included.

Elion offers higher speeds for the same price in certain areas where the infrastructure has been improved (end-goal being that everyone will move to higher speed plans eventually) and hence both options have been outlined in the table below.
Starman currently retains its old plans for customers who don't wish to upgrade and who joined the service before 21 September 2014 (the old plans have speeds approximately half of the current speeds and with costs lower by 11%-23%, depending on the plan). Starman no longer utilises the PowerBoost technology with its new service plans.
STV applies region-based pricing and the price/speed ratio is largely dependent on the different service plans. The prices specified in the table below are only for the Saturn service plans.

Italy
In Italy the main technology used for accessing Internet is ADSL/ADSL2+. The maximum speed of ADSL2+ is 20 Mbit/s in download, and 1 Mbit/s in upload.
The main ISP is TIM. From 2015 many operators started to deploy VDSL (100 Mbit/s down, 20 Mbit/s up) technology (copper on local loop). Using this technology, optic fiber arrives to the cabinet, and then connects customers using copper (FTTC).
In Italy optical fiber has been available since 2000. The main companies offering optical-fiber-based internet connections are TIM, Vodafone and Fastweb. Several companies offer LLU Adsl2, such as Infostrada, Tiscali, Fastweb, and TIM.
In Italy not all the plans are available anywhere: form small towns connected at 640k, to 1 Gbit/s available only in a few big cities. ISPs call this fenomena "digital divide". Telecom Italia's anti-digital divide project, since 2006, set as a goal to provide at least 640 kbit/s down / 256 kbit/s up to any people covered by ordinary phone network. MiniDSLAMs that provide this service are connected via copper network. TIM wants to provide to anyone "broadband" connection, in fact users report poor connection speeds and latency.
